I sometimes use old plates left in the printshop. I enjoy working on a plate that someone else has already marked up. In this case, there is an upside down crane cutting through the space diagonally. It has nothing to do with the sea horse but it did suggest a way to organize and compose the space.

A sea horse is the sort of thing that wants to be an etching.
